About The Project
CCS performed a full-spectrum threat assessment and site-specific hardening recommendations for 10 courthouses throughout Cook County, IL. As part of our work, a matrix was developed to address the degree of potential impact, likelihood, and categorization of risk levels for threats that included Blast, Ballistic, Airborne, Chemical, Biological, Cyber/Systemic.
The Cook County courthouse buildings assessed represented Chicago, Skokie, Rolling Meadows, Maywood, Bridgeview, and Markham. This project was a collaborative effort of the Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM), the Sheriff’s Office (“CCSO”), and the Department of Capital Planning & Policy (“DCPP”), with the support of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (“IEMA”).
Funding was provided by an Urban Areas Security Initiative (“UASI”) grant from the US Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”).
