About The Project
Cameron Park Zoo rests on 52 acres adjacent to the Brazos River in Waco, Texas. CCS was involved in the construction of an 18,520-square-foot education center, which will house four multipurpose classroom spaces to support the existing educational programs and summer camps. Flexible room layouts will also allow the space to rent for receptions and conferences. In addition to the classroom spaces, there will be ambassador animal care facilities to accommodate current and future animals.
The education center will also contain staff offices and building support spaces. In addition, we supported the development of a vet hospital to replace current facilities on the property. A new surgery suite and treatment room will accommodate care for all animal types; flexible indoor and outdoor animal holding rooms will allow space for animals to recover after treatment. The premises also include a necropsy space and a clinical pathology lab.
