About The Project
CCS was involved in the building of the Douglas County Adult Detention & Law Enforcement Center, a 500,000 SF facility including five buildings with 1,500-beds, and a four-story housing tower. The 200,600 SF, 4-story Law Enforcement Center (LEC) houses space for Sheriff’s offices, detention administration, administrative support, central control, inmate processing center, visitation, a mental health clinic, an infirmary, food service, a warehouse, and a 9,350 SF power plant. The 294,600 SF Detention Center has a total of 1,500 beds with housing for the Male General Population; Male Single Cells; Female Housing; Inmate Worker Dorms; and Supermax Cells. Additional buildings include a large visitor center, a trustee dorm, and a maintenance shop. As one of the first LEED-certified county corrections facilities in the Southeast, the design is expected to reduce the building’s annual energy costs by more than $200,000.
